The Operating Theater, entertains audiences with unusual, innovative, provocative performance, creating art that can only be fully experienced in a live forum. We experiment with perception and explore the visceral subjectivity of human experience.
Since its inception in 2004, OT has produced seven full-length productions:

• Transatlantica by Kenny Finkle (at New York Theatre Workshop's Fourth Street Theatre)
• The Garden of Forked Tongues (Teatro IATI)
• Van Driver (two productions at The Cherry Lane Theater's Cherry Pit Late Night)
• The Present Perfect (NYIT Award Winner for Excellence: Lighting Design 2007 [Peter Hoerburger] & Nominee for Excellence in Set Design 2007 [Megan Biddle])
• FLAT! at The Moral Values Festival at The Brick Theater, chosen for 'Best of Festival' encore run)
• Mountain View Estates at the Dumbo Stables

Short-form performance pieces:

• The Great Beyond (Toy Box Theatre company's Pub Theater series)
• Exploring the Multiverse (Open City Dialogues, The Gershwin Hotel, Little Theater at Dixon Place,
• Are You ALIVE?, a traveling metaphysical gameshow (Little Theater, Catch Series, P.S.122's Avant-Garde-A-Rama, and ThePhoenix Artspace)

• The Doctor Schüler Medicine Show (in Los Angeles at El Cid and The MET Theater)

The Garden of Forked Tongues was made possible by Lower Manhattan Cultural Council’s Swing Space program, which was created with lead support from the September 11th Fund. Project space was donated by Capstone Equities.

The Operating Theater is a sponsored project of Fractured Atlas, a non-profit arts service organization. Fractured Atlas will receive grants on behalf of the Operating Theater, provide oversight to ensure that grant funds are used in accordance with grant agreements, and provide reports as required by the grantor.
